Pilot Project on Weather Index Insurance
Mr. Thiraphong Tangthirasunan, the President of Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives, Mrs. Chantra Buranalerk, the director general of Department of Insurance, and Mr. Sujin Whanglee, the Chairman of the General Insurance Association, jointly announced the pilot project on weather index insurance, as recommended by World Bank, in the area of Pakchong District of Nakornratchasima Province, joined by 35 farmers with the total area of 926 rai and 1.3 million Baht coverage, at Meeting Room of Department of Insurance, 9th Floor, Ministry of Commerce, Sanambinnam, July 26 2007.
