BAAC Announced the Solution Guideline to the Problem Concerning Overdue Payments of Siripinyo Rice Miller


Mr. Thiraphong Tangthirasunan, the President of Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC), announced the solution guideline to the problem concerning overdue payments of Siripinyo Rice Miller in which 6,000-7,000 farmers haven???t yet received the payment of approximately 300 million baht for their sticky rice from Siripinyo Rice Miller who participated in the government???s pledging program. The bank plans to negotiate with the miller to ask them to pay the farmers as much as possible from the sale of their rice bought under the pledging program and will ask for the government assistance for the remaining payment. The bank will submit this issue to discuss at the Cabinet meeting on this Tuesday 8 July. The announcement was made at the Press Release Room, Ministry of Finance, July 4 2008.
