Workshop on Programme Global Shield (PGS)


Mr. Chaiyut Kumkun, Principal Advisor on Customs Control Development of The Customs Department ,presided over the opening ceremony of the WCO Sub-Regional Train the Trainers Workshop on Programme Global Shield (PGS) at the Novotel Bangkok ploenchit Sukhumvit Hotel. Hosted by the Thai Customs department together with the World Customs Organization (WCO). This train the trainers workshop which is held in Bangkok on September 17-28, 2018 aims to raise awareness and enhance performance of customs officers from 9 countries in Asia pacific region. Who are involved in examinations and inspections of the threat posed by Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).WCO has initiated Programme Global Shield (PGS), as the part of the WCO Security Projects, to reduce terrorist organizations' ability to obtain IEDs, including to counter the increasing illicit use and movement of precursor chemicals to manufacture IEDs. Which becomes one of the most prevalent form of explosives employed by terrorists around the world , at the Novotel Bangkok ploenchit Sukhumvit Hotel, September 17 2018.
